He immediately understood that something was wrong. Lions know how to swim, but this one was clearly injured and weak. At that moment, while everyone else was frozen with fear, the man didn’t hesitate for a second. He threw down his backpack and camera and plunged into the water.
The cold river rushed towards him with a strong current. Pulling the lion to the shore seemed impossible: the predator’s body was heavy, its wet fur dragged downward.
The man strained every muscle, his breathing becoming harder and harder by the second. But the thought that this animal might die before his eyes pushed him to persevere. He grabbed the lion by the neck and literally pulled it out of the river.
