Actor Tobias Moretti comes from the small mountain village of Villben. This rural environment is the source of his deep connection to agriculture. On his farm located in Omesberg, Tyrol, he raises organic livestock, particularly cattle.
From a very young age, he was interested in music and learned to play several instruments. This led him to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and then at the Falkenberg Drama School in Munich starting in 1984.
“Music accompanied me very early on – but I found my true calling on stage,” Moretti confides.
Initially a recognized theater actor, he later became known to the wider public through cinema. Notable works include Workaholic (Wer kommt in mein Bett?) and Krambambuli.

His fame especially skyrocketed thanks to his role as an investigator in the TV series Kommissar Rex. He received:
1995: Bavarian Film Award
1998: Italian Telegatto Award
After four seasons, he decided to leave the series. The writers gave his character a dramatic ending.
“I loved doing that, but being a TV series star is not a sustainable profession. My face is not suited to continuous marketing.”
Today, in his sixties, he lives with his family on his farm in Tyrol, passionately continuing his organic livestock farming.
In summary:
Tobias Moretti demonstrates that it is possible to combine a brilliant artistic career with a sustainable agricultural lifestyle. His passion for organic farming is rooted in his rural childhood. He embodies the idea that a successful career change requires courage and reflection.
