During our honeymoon, I heard my husband talking about his plan to throw me into the sea for 300 million.

🤔‼️😦 When I returned to our cabin, I locked the door before my legs gave way beneath me. I grabbed my phone and sent a message to Mark Reyes, an old friend of my father’s and a former Coast Guard member. Mark had helped my father choose the yacht, but Flynn had never met him.

“Mark, they’re drugging me. Flynn and his parents want to throw me into the sea at midnight and stage an accident to deceive my parents. Don’t call me. I’m right here nearby.”

I attached my location and a photo of the pills. Less than a minute later, he replied:

“Got it. Act normal. Don’t eat or drink anything else. Record everything. Help is on the way.”

I activated the audio recording and slipped my phone into the pocket of my robe. When Maya, the cabin attendant, came to ask how I was feeling, I asked her for a sealed bottle of water.

As she adjusted my pillow, I whispered that my husband had given me suspicious medication. She absolutely must not tell him that I had stopped taking it. Fear was clearly visible in her eyes, but she nodded almost imperceptibly.

Flynn came in a few minutes later, wearing his usual caring smile. He was holding two pills.

“You need to take these now, sweetheart.”

I pretended to swallow them, hiding the pills under my tongue, then wrapped them in a tissue. Flynn sat beside me and stroked my hair. His touch, which had once comforted me, now felt colder than the approaching storm.

Around eleven thirty, he brought me a glass of champagne. I merely touched my lips to it and poured the rest onto my robe. For a moment, his jaw tightened.

“Come on, some fresh air will do you good.”

I nodded and discreetly sent the recording to Mark.

On the upper deck, the wind tousled my hair. Fiona and her husband stood a little farther away, apparently absorbed in watching the dark sea. No crew members were in sight. Flynn escorted me to the stern railing.

“Lean over and take a deep breath,” he said.

His hand settled on my back.

“Answer one question first,” I said. “What documents did you make me sign?”

His face instantly turned pale.

“What are you talking about?”

“The documents that will allow you to get my three hundred million after my death. And the accident you arranged for my parents in the mountains.”

Fiona turned deathly pale. Flynn grabbed my wrist.

“Give me your phone.”

At that moment, a powerful spotlight illuminated the entire deck. A voice rang out over a loudspeaker, drowning out the sound of the wind:

“Coast Guard! Stay where you are!”

Flynn tried to push me over the railing, but Maya burst onto the deck and sounded the alarm. I managed to grab a safety cable. Two crew members, who had been alerted by Mark moments earlier, threw Flynn to the deck.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the pills contained a powerful sedative. The champagne had also been laced with an additional dose.

In Flynn’s cabin, the police found a forged power of attorney, documents relating to my assets, and messages addressed to a man who had been paid to sabotage my parents’ car before their trip to the mountains.

Maya gave a full statement. Flynn had ordered the crew to stay away from the upper deck after midnight and had threatened to fire anyone who disobeyed. My recordings, the pills I had kept, the bank transfers, and Maya’s testimony together constituted overwhelming evidence.

My parents were alerted that same evening. They canceled their trip and had their car inspected. It turned out that the brake line had already been damaged.

Flynn and his parents were arrested before dawn. During the trial, they claimed that the conversation had been a tasteless joke and that the documents were merely accounting records. No judge believed their version of events. All three were sentenced to lengthy prison terms, and my marriage was annulled.

A few months later, I returned to the yacht with my parents, Mark, and Maya. The sea was clear and calm. My father asked me why I hadn’t sold the yacht after everything that had happened.

“Because I don’t want the sea to take away the worst night of my life forever,” I replied.

We renamed the yacht Second Chance.

The documents Flynn had made me sign without reading were the last things I ever trusted blindly simply because they had been prepared by someone I loved. 🤔
