A sick sheikh kept repeatedly dismissing the nurses assigned to monitor his health, until one day a simple girl entered his room and did something that left him speechless for the first time in a long while. 😱
“I said, get out!”
The sheikh had just thrown yet another nurse out of his room.
The sick sheikh kept dismissing the nurses who were supposed to monitor his health, until one day a simple girl entered his room and did something that left him speechless for the first time in a long while.
In the past few months, this had become a daily routine throughout the hospital. No one was surprised anymore by the next tears in the hallway or the loud screams coming from the room of the richest patient. The nurses were changed almost daily. Some could not endure the constant humiliation, others requested transfers to another department on their own, and some quit immediately after their first shift.
The sheikh was seriously ill and needed constant care, but he behaved as if the whole world owed him something. He spoke rudely to the doctors, threw documents on the floor, deliberately pressed the call button for the staff ten times an hour, and then sarcastically said he had changed his mind. If the nurse brought the medication a minute late, he would make a huge scene. If she arrived on time, he would still find a reason to be dissatisfied.
No one believed anymore that this person could change.
After the latest scandal, the door of the room closed again, and the sheikh remained alone. A tense silence filled the hospital. The chief physician knew it would be very difficult to find another nurse.
That very day, a young woman named Mary was offered the job.

She was immediately warned that the patient was extremely difficult—not because of his illness, but because of his character. She was told honestly that no one before her had managed to last even a single day.
Mary listened quietly until the end.
She knew exactly what she was getting into, but she could not refuse. A few months earlier, her father had lost his job, the family could no longer keep up with the loan payments, and the bank had already begun preparing foreclosure papers for their home. This job was her only chance to earn good money quickly.
The next morning, the girl took a deep breath and entered the room.
She was truly afraid.
The sheikh did not even wait for her to come closer.
“Who are you? Get out of my room!”
Mary calmly closed the door behind her, placed the folder with the documents on the table, and began carefully going through the medical records as if she had not heard his words at all.
This behavior immediately surprised the sheikh.
Normally, the nurses would start to justify themselves or become nervous after the first shout, but this girl continued working calmly.
“You’ll leave in half an hour anyway, just like the others.”
Mary looked up and replied calmly:
“We’ll see.”
The sheikh smirked. He was convinced she would give up within minutes as well. But the sheikh could never have imagined who this simple girl really was and what she would do. 😳😱 You can find the second part of this story in the first comment 👇👇
All day long he tried to unsettle the girl. He asked for water, and when she brought the glass, he said he had changed his mind. He ordered the window to be opened, and then immediately ordered it to be closed again. Several times he deliberately dropped objects on the floor, waiting for Mary to react irritably.
But the girl silently carried out every task. By evening, this began to annoy the sheikh even more.
The next day, everything repeated itself. And then again.
The sick sheikh kept dismissing the nurses who were supposed to monitor his health, until one day a simple girl entered his room and did something that left him speechless for the first time in a long while.
After a few days, he was surprised to realize that for the first time, he had not managed to make anyone lose their composure.
On the fourth morning, Mary brought the medication, placed it on the bedside table, and suddenly said calmly:
“May I ask you a question?”

The sheikh frowned.
“Ask.”
“Do you really want to get well?”
He was surprised by the question.
“Of course.”
“Then why do you drive away every day the people without whom you cannot recover?”
The room fell silent.
Mary did not accuse him and did not lecture him.
She simply continued:
“I read your medical file. It says you were always surrounded by dozens of people, but now no one from your family comes. Neither your sons, nor relatives, nor friends. Only hospital staff. You are driving away the last people who are still willing to help you. Not because they are bad, but because you believe everyone only wants your money.”
The sheikh said nothing for the first time.
The girl turned around and quietly left the room.
All day he looked out the window in silence.
Those words would not leave him alone.
The next morning, when Mary came in with the medication, he did not shout for the first time.
He only asked quietly:
“Do you really think the problem is me?”
Mary answered honestly:
“If more than twenty nurses have left you within a few months, maybe the problem isn’t with the twenty nurses.”
The sheikh fell silent for a long time.
After a few minutes, he said unexpectedly:
“In my entire life, no one has ever dared to say that to my face.”
From that day on, his behavior began to change gradually. Not immediately and not overnight. Sometimes he still lost his temper, but each time he apologized afterward on his own. The nurses stopped requesting transfers, and the doctors noticed that the patient had become calmer and that the treatment was finally showing results.
Before his discharge, the sheikh asked Mary to come to his room.
She thought he wanted to say goodbye.
But instead, he handed her a folder.
Inside was a bank document.
It turned out that that morning he had paid off her family’s entire debt, and their house was no longer at risk.
Mary looked at him in confusion.
“Why?”
For the first time in all that time, the sheikh smiled sincerely.
“Because you were the first person who did not treat my illness, but my character. If you had been just as afraid as the others, I would have remained the loneliest man with a vast fortune forever.”
