«Oh, excuse me, I accidentally tripped, the cake slipped out of my hands» — my mother-in-law deliberately threw my wedding cake on the floor and didn’t even try to hide her joy. But after I did what I did, she fell to her knees and begged me to forgive her 😢😨

My mother-in-law never liked me from the very beginning. She never tried to hide it. When her son told her he had met a girl, she immediately assumed it was the daughter of her best friend. This girl had grown up before her eyes, often visited their home, and my mother-in-law had dreamed for years that she would one day become her daughter-in-law. But then I came into her son’s life…

In front of people, she smiled, but behind that smile, there was always a cold hostility. She constantly tried to turn us against each other. Sometimes it was little things that could have seemed like accidents. But over time, I realized these “accidents” happened far too often.

One day, she invited her son over, supposedly to help him mount a shelf in the bathroom. I waited in a café, but he didn’t show up and didn’t answer his phone. A few hours later, he called me, frustrated, saying he was stuck at her place. It turned out that my mother-in-law had locked him in the bathroom and claimed the lock was broken. Later, when the handyman opened the door in two minutes, she just shrugged and said she didn’t know how it happened.

At our wedding, she was even worse. She openly told her son that he was making a mistake. She even tried several times to convince him to cancel the ceremony.

On the day of the wedding, it became clear that she had decided to sabotage the celebration at all costs.

First, she didn’t come dressed like the other guests in a proper outfit; she wore ordinary clothes as if she were going to the market. When asked carefully why she was dressed that way, she just shrugged and said she didn’t consider the day so important.

Then she offered to help me before the ceremony and suggested carefully ironing my veil. I initially refused, but she insisted so much that I gave in. A minute later, the smell of burnt fabric filled the room. The veil had been damaged by the iron. She raised her hands and said she had accidentally left the iron in one spot for too long.

I tried not to pay attention. I kept telling myself that this was my day and no one could ruin it.

But it kept going.

During the photoshoot, she came closer, as if she wanted to see the pictures on the camera screen, and suddenly she “accidentally” touched the camera with her hand. The camera fell to the ground.

I stayed silent again.

But the drop that made the cup overflow was the wedding cake.

It was a huge three-tiered cake with fresh flowers. It had been delivered in the morning and carefully placed in the center of the hall.

My mother-in-law stood next to the cake and suddenly declared that it was incorrectly placed and needed to be shifted a bit. I immediately told her not to do that. Still, she walked up to the table.

Seconds later, there was a dull thud. The cake lay on the floor, broken into pieces, with cream and flowers scattered across the dark parquet.

“Oh, excuse me,” she said, raising her hands. “I accidentally tripped. The cake just slipped out of my hands.”

But a strange smile appeared on her face. She didn’t even try to hide her joy.

I looked at the marks on the floor and immediately understood that the cake hadn’t fallen by accident. It had been thrown intentionally.

She continued to feign remorse.

“How clumsy I am today,” she sighed. “Everything keeps falling. I’m really not feeling well. Son, can you take me to the hospital?”

She said it as plaintively as if she were the victim. And at that moment, my patience ran out.

I did something that made my mother-in-law fall to her knees, begging me for forgiveness 😢😲

“Oh, excuse me, I accidentally tripped, the cake slipped out of my hands” — my mother-in-law had deliberately thrown my wedding cake on the floor and didn’t even try to hide her joy; but after I acted, she pleaded for forgiveness on her knees.

I walked over to my husband and calmly said:

“— Now you have to make a choice. Me or your mother.”

The hall went silent. The guests stopped talking and only looked at us.

“Oh, excuse me, I accidentally tripped over my own feet, the cake slipped from my hands” — my mother-in-law had intentionally thrown my wedding cake to the floor and didn’t even pretend to hide her joy; but after I acted, she fell to her knees and begged for forgiveness.

He first looked at the broken cake, then at me, and finally at his mother.

“— I choose my wife,” he said calmly but firmly.

At that moment, my mother-in-law’s expression changed.

She realized she had gone too far and truly risked losing her son.

Her confidence vanished instantly.

She stepped toward me, her voice weak and nervous.

“— I didn’t mean for it to go this far…,” she began.

But no one believed those words anymore.

A second later, she fell to her knees in the middle of the hall and started begging for forgiveness. She explained that she had just been nervous, hadn’t meant any harm, that it was a difficult day, and that she had acted foolishly.

She kept repeating that she loved her son and didn’t want to lose him.
