Laura Martin had been working as a nanny for over five years and thought she had seen everything. That’s why, when she started working at the Blake family’s house, nothing seemed suspicious. A spacious suburban home, a well-kept garden, welcoming hosts, and a nine-month-old baby named Noah.
At first, everything was calm. But soon, she began to notice something strange.
Every time she changed Noah’s diaper, Laura saw fine red marks on the baby’s thighs. They were neither a rash nor an irritation. They seemed too regular, as if someone had pressed the skin with their fingers. At first, she attributed it to the diapers – perhaps a defective model or one that was too tight.
After a few days, the marks disappeared. But then they reappeared.

While Noah slept during the day, Laura increasingly heard footsteps upstairs. The creaking floor. Silent movements. When she asked Michael, he calmly replied that he had been at his computer the whole time. One day, Laura went up to the child’s room and clearly heard the door close from the inside, even though a few minutes earlier, the room had been empty.

The next morning, seeing a new mark on the child’s body, Laura realized she could wait no longer. She ordered a small camera and placed it in a corner of the child’s room, aimed directly at the crib.
The first two days, nothing happened. Laura began to doubt herself, thinking she might be overreacting. But on the third day, after lunch, she decided to review the recording.
The first few minutes were normal. And then – the door slowly opened. Almost silently. A man entered the room.
Laura immediately understood: it wasn’t Claire. Nor Michael.
It was a completely unknown man. He approached the crib, leaned over the child, and at that moment, Laura was speechless at what she saw…
As the stranger leaned over the crib, Laura could barely breathe. The man acted confidently, as if he had done it many times before. He gently took the child by the thighs, pressing lightly on the skin.
Noah did not wake up. He only sighed softly in his sleep.

Laura didn’t wait a second. She grabbed her jacket, the child, and left the house without explaining anything to Michael, who was calmly sitting at his computer. Just an hour later, the police were at the house.
The recording was watched several times. Michael turned pale when he saw the stranger’s face. He recognized him immediately.
It was his older brother – Ethan.
Officially, Ethan was considered missing. A few years ago, he had disappeared after an argument with the family, and everyone was sure he had either left the country or died. But the truth was far more terrifying.
Ethan had secretly snuck into the house through an old attic exit that only he knew about. For several months, he observed the family, studied their routine, checked the locks, cameras, and alarm system.
He intentionally left marks on the child’s body – not too visible, but frightening. He didn’t want to cause serious harm, but to show something else. He was gathering evidence.
All of this, he planned to use to blackmail Michael. Ethan wanted money. He wanted to show that he could enter the house at any time and do whatever he wanted with the child.
Later, the police found in the attic a backpack containing copies of recordings, children’s clothes, and detailed notes on every day of the family. Ethan planned to contact his brother soon.
