Don’t worry, your cancer can wait,” said the husband, taking all the money meant for the treatment and giving it to his mother for the party. While his mother beamed in her new dress, his wife suffered terribly. 😢😱
When Maria learned the doctor’s diagnosis, her world collapsed. Cancer. She desperately needed treatment; otherwise, her chances were slim. She stayed silent the entire way home, consumed by a single question: should she tell her husband? Did he care about her? Would he support her?
Her husband did support her. The first two days.
On the third day, he walked in without knocking.
“Listen… Mom wants to celebrate her birthday with me. There’s a restaurant, music… you know what I mean.”
Maria looked up – bald from chemotherapy, cadaverously pale, barely breathing.
“But… the medication… we can’t give it to you right away…”

He sighed in irritation:
“Well, fine, your cancer can wait. It’s our anniversary! Mom worked hard for me her whole life!”
An hour later, he transferred all his savings to his mother’s account. Down to the last cent. Maria was left with an empty account and said nothing… she simply locked herself in the bathroom and cried silently, tormented by the pain — physical pain, and the pain of betrayal.
And that evening, his mother, glowing in a new red dress, raised her glass and exclaimed:
“Thank you, my son! He’s a treasure, he does everything for me!”
The laughter around the table sounded like mockery. But at that very moment, she received a message that horrified her. 😱😢 “Part 2 in the first comment 👇👇”
A notification appeared on her screen: “URGENT: Unpaid medical bills. Patient Maria P… Failure to pay the full amount could result in her death.”
Her eyes widened, but before she could say anything, the second part of her daughter-in-law’s plan went into motion.
Maria had installed an app that tracked all her banking transactions. When her husband transferred the money to his mother for the birthday dinner, she clicked “Send notification to all family contacts.”
That included the husband’s relatives, his friends, his colleagues, and even the guests at the party.
A few hours before the dinner, Maria sent photos of receipts, medication, and a medical report to the family group chat. She simply signed it:
“You’re celebrating today. I am fighting for my life.”
The guests began reading the messages one by one. A murmur spread through the room. Some stood up from the table; others cast disapproving looks at the hero of the evening.
And just as his mother opened her mouth to defend herself, her brother burst in, stern and straightforward as always.
“Is this true? Did you steal money meant for treatment? Did you throw a feast at the expense of a sick woman?”
A heavy silence fell over the room.
His mother turned pale, and her husband tried to intervene, but his friends shouted at him:
“Are you insane? She could have died!”
“No real man behaves like that!”
Within minutes, he went from being the family’s ‘favorite son’ to a complete outcast.
Maria, trembling, sat on the couch at home, but for the first time in a long while, she smiled. Not out of malice — but with calm. She had regained her dignity.
The next morning, she received a notification: “A transfer has been credited to your account.” The sum was three times the amount that had been stolen. All the guests, relatives, and even some of her mother-in-law’s employees sent money to help her pay for her treatment.
And her husband? He tried to justify himself by phone and by letter. But Maria was ready. She asked for a divorce.
