When, after their father’s death, the will was opened, the children were left speechless — all the assets, the company, even the house were registered in their mother’s name.
They exchanged a look and, without speaking, understood what had to be done.
“If she can’t live without her money — then let her live… underground,” whispered the eldest son.

The next day they put their mother in the car, telling her they were taking her for a drive. Trusting and calm, the woman had no idea it would be her last journey.
They took her to the railway tracks — to that spot where trains always passed on time.
The children knew perfectly well that, in her wheelchair, she wouldn’t be able to escape, and that the train driver wouldn’t have time to brake. And if the police investigated, they could make it look like an accident.
When only a few minutes remained before the train arrived, they stopped and, without a word, left the wheelchair on the tracks.
The woman felt the ground start to tremble. Faintly at first, then stronger and stronger. The rumble grew nearer — the train was almost there.
She tried to move, prayed, but the wheels were stuck between the rails.

Tears streamed down her wrinkled cheeks. She closed her eyes and whispered:
“Lord, if You exist, don’t let me die like this…”
And suddenly — a loud screech of tractor brakes. A farmer appeared from around the bend. He had heard her cries and ran toward the tracks. Without thinking, he parked his tractor on the crossing and rushed to the woman.
A moment before impact, he grabbed the wheelchair and, with all his strength, pushed it aside. The train thundered past, brushing them.
The farmer was gasping for breath, dust rising all around them, the woman trembling.
“You’re alive. That’s what matters,” he said, exhaling.
She looked at him through tears and whispered:
“Thank you… God sent you.”

Later, in the hospital, when the police questioned her, the woman told them everything. And it was the farmer who pointed out the surveillance camera installed nearby — it had captured the moment when the children abandoned their mother on the tracks.
A few days later, the siblings were arrested. The court found them guilty of attempted murder. All the property they had coveted passed definitively to their mother by court ruling.
